First-time test ride? Totally normal to feel unsure about what to expect — especially for an electric bike you have never ridden before.
This guide walks you through every step, so nothing catches you off guard.
Most Revolt Hubs require an advance booking. Go to revoltmotors.com/test-ride, pick your city and showroom, choose a slot, and confirm. No payment, no commitment.
When you show up, bring:
Driving licence — mandatory before they hand you the bike
Closed shoes — sandals are not allowed for safety reasons
30 to 45 minutes — 15 to 20 minutes for the ride, the rest for talking to the team
Helmet is optional to bring — the showroom will provide one if needed.
Revolt Hubs feel different from a regular two-wheeler dealership. No engine smell. No noise. Clean, quiet, bikes on display.
Staff will confirm your booking and note your licence. Then a product specialist walks you to the bike.
Available for test rides at most showrooms: RV400 and RV1+. BlazeX availability varies — call ahead if that is the model you want to ride.
Before you ride, the staff covers the basics. Pay attention here — it makes the ride itself much smoother.
Starting the bike: No ignition key in the traditional sense. You use a key fob or the MyRevolt app. The dashboard lights up and you are ready.
Controls: No clutch. No gear lever. Twist throttle to go, squeeze brakes to stop. That is it. Simpler than any petrol bike.
Riding modes: Eco, Normal, Sport. Staff will suggest Eco or Normal for your first ride — good advice. Eco is smooth and forgiving.
Sound modes (RV400 and BlazeX): The bike has built-in engine sounds you can switch between. You will get to try this. It is more fun than it sounds.
When you twist the throttle for the first time — the bike moves silently and instantly. No vibration. No lag. Just smooth, immediate power.
Most first-timers twist a little harder than they mean to because they are waiting for the delay they are used to from petrol bikes. Start gently. The bike responds fast.
What to notice while riding:
Throttle — Is it smooth at low speeds? Does it respond naturally?
Braking — Try a few gentle stops and one firm one. Both disc brakes and CBS work together automatically.
Seat comfort — Does your back feel natural after 10 minutes of city-style riding?
Low-speed handling — Take a slow U-turn. This is what daily traffic feels like.
The silence — At a red light, the bike is completely still. No idle sound, no vibration. Feels strange for about 10 seconds. Then it feels great.
The post-ride conversation is not just a sales pitch. Use it.
Most people ask about price and range. Also ask these:
"Which service centre is nearest to me and what is the usual wait time?" — This matters more than any feature for long-term ownership.
"Can you show me how the battery comes out and goes back in?" — Seeing the removable battery in person is worth more than reading about it.
"Are there any current subsidies for my city?" — State and central EV subsidies can bring the price down by ₹15,000 to ₹25,000.
"What is the current delivery timeline?" — Good to know before you commit.
If you are ready to book, the booking amount is ₹499. If you are not ready, that is completely fine — no pressure, no obligation.
A Revolt is actually a good first bike to try. No clutch, no gears, lighter weight, smooth power — it is more forgiving for beginners than a petrol bike.
Just tell the staff you are new to riding. They will keep you in Eco mode and make sure you are comfortable. You still need a valid driving licence to ride. No licence yet? You can still visit, see the bikes, ask questions, and sit pillion on a staff demo ride.
30 to 45 minutes. Free. No commitment. The test ride answers more questions than any review or spec sheet can. Book it, carry your licence, wear closed shoes — and when you twist the throttle and the bike moves in silence for the first time, just enjoy it.
